Canon Pixma Mx680
Lately, I’ve been passively searching for a new printer. When I say passively, I mean I was waiting until a good offer showed up on Slickdeals or something. It’s pretty sad because I’ve been using the same ancient Canon i455 printer I had inherited in high school to print out all my stuff. The quality was not so pretty. Each ink cartridge was around seven bucks and it only printed about 20 pages before it ran out of ink. Not the ideal printer to have as a college student. I was always worrying I would be unable to print my paper the night before it was due.
So during my usual routine of checking Slickdeals, I came across a front paged deal; an all in one Canon Pixma Mx680 printer for only $103. So was this the printer of my dreams? It can copy. It’s wireless. It has a memory card slot. And it’s a fax machine as well! My current printer has none of those capabilities. Normally I wouldn’t act so quick on something I can live without (like a nice printer). But boy was this deal sweet. No tax, free two day shipping (perk of having a Prime membership), backed with great customer service. I finally bit.
I had it shipped to my work since no one was going to be home to sign for it. So exactly two days later (which is today), I received the printer. Boy is that thing HUGE! I had to lug that thing out of the office as fast as I could so that my co-workers wouldn’t think I was stealing from the company. It took me about an hour to set everything up. I can’t really say much about it right now. I feel like I probably wont even be using it as anything more than just a printer. BUTTTT..it definitely feels good to have the extra functions if I ever need it. I can finally put the i455 to rest.
I’m planning to write an actual review of the printer when I start playing around with it on Amazon when I have some spare time. I’ll let you guys know when that’s done. Don’t hold your breath though.
